THE USE AND PURPOSE OF GUN SILENCER.
Purpose of Gun Silencer for Rifles and Pistols
Gun Silencer for rifles and pistols are usually referred to as a aiding tool for criminal intent, which is learned from the movies.
People are still afraid of someone using and shooting with a silencer on a rifle or gun, why ?The answer is simple, there is less or no sound when firing the shot.
Guns or Gun Silencer do not kill people, it is the people behind the gun.
As for the criminal intent of using a gun silencer, it is important to consider that all those killings done with knives are without a “bang”.
What ever tool manufactured today, if misused can and will hurt or kill people, if the intention of some person is to do so. I personally have never seen or heard of gun killing people by it self, there is usually Homo Sapiens and intention behinde it. Car accidents kill many people, do we ban automobiles ? Grass movers etc. are things to consider, since many people are killed using them.
As to a rifle shooter and pistol shooter, who want to protect their hearing, it is the very best long lasting hearing protection there is available.
Ear mufflers are good, but most hunters do not carry them on hunting trips. Elderly shooters know this very well, since hearing loss is noticeable in elderly rifle and pistol shooters. Another thing to consider is that a gun silencer will protect the hearing of bystanders and hunting companions.

New type of Headspace Micrometer
This Measuring tool is a Headspace Micrometer for Riflesmiths. I call it the Precision Riflesmiths delight, due to it’s attributes. The conventional method of headspace measuring is using a regular depth micrometer, which is accurate when it has solid suport on both “wings” (lands). In the case of this old depth micrometer it sits on a small surface,that is headspace gauge,and the measuring pin extends down onto the end of barrel stub, to take the measurment.The only problem here is that the headspace gauge is looselyfit in the chamber as all gunsmiths know, and can cant a little to the sides, this can give error of 0.05-0.10 mm. This “Riflesmith’s Delight” is designed with a different land as the photos show. It is round and sits solidly on the barrel end and cannot cant to side, plus it’s measuring depth pin contacts the headspace gauge on CENTER. This tool gives constant, accurate measurments all the time.
New Type of Headspace Micrometer
The second attribute of this tool is to make up a enlarged version as shown here, to measure the whole length, of barrel stub to the end of headspace gauge. By doing this, the accuracy of the total measurement is even better. This speeds up the measuring process and gives more constant results. Gunsmiths don’t have to rely on the old type of depth micrometer. Measurements with as small error as possible are very important,in building the most accurate Bench Rest and competition rifles,and varmint rifles today. As everyone knows the Bench Rest Riflesmiths are setting the standards in gunsmithing all over the globe today. And should be given the credits they deserve, but seldom get.
